You're confusing old school chamber of commerce Republicans and uni party types like McConnell with newer types like Vance and Gabbard, and the much larger group of people from the "open source right", including many social conservatives that have been paying attention to health and welfare for years.
I'm not so much confusing them as pointing out that the former still hold power in almost all the relevant regulatory agencies. By RFK's own account, those would be the EPA and Agriculture, not HHS; and the appointees there are already busy reversing regulations on forever chemicals and siding with Big Ag over state and local governments. I've seen nothing to indicate anyone in the MAHA world cares in the slightest about this.
